Nixa football phenom Jackson Cantwell names his final six schools. Here they are.

Jackson Cantwell, the No. 1 recruit in the 2026 high school football class, has narrowed his list of potential suiters to six.

The Nixa High School five-star phenom narrowed his list through On3. He had previously cut his list to 14 ahead of his junior season before leading the Eagles to a Class 6 runner-up finish.

In alphabetical order, Cantwell announced his final six programs: Georgia, Michigan, Miami (Florida), Missouri, Ohio State and Oregon.

In recent weeks, many head coaches and assistants from the remaining programs on his list visited him, his family and Eagles coach John Perry at Nixa High School. Among head coaches who visited include Ohio State’s Ryan Day, Miami’s Mario Cristobal, Georgia’s Kirby Smart, Michigan’s Sherrone Moore and Oregon’s Dan Lanning.

He also recently visited Mizzou, where his dad, former Tigers track and field star and United States Olympic silver medalist Christian Cantwell, was recognized during the second half of a basketball game. He was spotted alongside Tigers coach Eli Drinkwitz.

Cantwell has said previously that he wants to commit to a school before his senior season this fall.

Cantwell was named the News-Leader’s 2024 Player of the Year after pancaking 158 players and being one of three finalists for the Gatorade National Player of the Year honor. The Eagles rushed for 3,710 yards in 14 games against Class 5 and 6 opponents. Their best game came in a Class 6 state semifinal win over Kirkwood, when they rushed for 457 total yards and six scores.
