Nick Sheridan, JaMarcus Shephard to remain on Alabama football staff with Ryan Grubb, per report

Alabama football will have its fourth offensive coordinator in four seasons when the 2025 season kicks off.

On Sunday, Ryan Grubb was announced as the next Alabama offensive coordinator, a position coach Kalen DeBoer hinted at when he was at the Senior Bowl Tuesday.

While the Crimson Tide may have a new offensive coordinator, DeBoer won’t be losing his 2024 play caller.

According to a report by ESPN, Nick Sheridan, Alabama’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach will remain on staff in 2025 along with JaMarcus Shephard, the Crimson Tide’s co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach.

Both Shephard and Sheridan worked with Grubb at Washington in 2022 and 2023.

Sheridan was hired as offensive coordinator after Grubb was hired as the Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator before the 2024 season.

Grubb follows Bill O’Brien and Tommy Rees, who were each of Nick Saban’s final two offensive coordinators. Grubb was originally DeBoer’s offensive coordinator hire for his first season at Alabama, but instead took the same post with the Seattle Seahawks.
