For a moment it looked like it would be Notre Dame football reunion at Indiana, but now former Irish offensive lineman Rocco Spindler had other ideas.
Pat Coogan has previously committed to the Hoosiers, and his former teammate was considering the program as well. Unfortunately, the two won’t be suiting up again together in the fall, instead as opponents inside the Big Ten as Spindler committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Sunday evening, although they won’t see each other on the field unless its in the conference championship game.
It’s a bit of an odd selection, considering that Nebraska had just one game with a 100-yard rusher while breaking in a true-freshman at quarterback. It was a neat play on words with Spindler’s commitment announcement, as he said “Rhule No. 1: Run the Damn Ball,” with a new photo of him as a Husker.
Hopefully Spindler, finds exactly what he was looking for in Lincoln, as they look to return to their past glory years.
