SEC Basketball standings after Texas A&M’s win over South Carolina

Texas A&M (17-5, 6-3 SEC) has solidified a spot in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, according to multiple outlets, after defeating South Carolina 76-72 behind star guard Wade Taylor IV’s 25 points and career-tying seven 3-pointers in his best game of the season.

While the Aggies still regret last Saturday’s stunning comeback loss to Texas, 6-3 in the SEC at the halfway mark of the season is an excellent spot to be in for a team entering a mini-bye week before facing No. 20 Missouri on the road on Saturday afternoon.

Around the rest of the SEC, Kentucky’s stunning loss to Arkansas amid John Calipari’s return to Lexington upstaged Florida’s 20-point loss to Tennessee. Still, overall, the Aggies reaped the benefits of both losses in the latest SEC standings and will likely move up in the AP Top 25 rankings on Monday afternoon.

With nine games left in the regular season, five will take place in Reed Arena, while the Aggies will avoid facing Florida and Auburn until early March in games that might not have any meaning by that time. Here are the updated SEC standings: Texas A&M’s win over South Carolina.
