BATON ROUGE – LSU football will open spring football practice March 8, the program announced Monday morning.
Last week, LSU coach Brian Kelly and the team set the dates for the 2025 National L Club Spring Game for April 12 to be held inside Tiger Stadium. Broadcast details, as well as what time the LSU spring football game will be, has not been determined.
The team now has it’s full spring practice scheduled mapped out. Per NCAA rules, football programs are allotted 15 practice for spring drills.

There’ll be plenty of buzz surrounding the Tigers heading into the 2025 season and spring practice will be the first look at what the team could look like next fall. LSU is coming off a nine-win season, the fourth straight season with at least nine victories under Kelly, and it capped it with a 44-31 win over Baylor in the Texas Bowl in Houston.
Way-too-early offseason talk about the Tigers have started with the return of senior quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, who has been getting early mentions for the 2025 Heisman Trophy race.
As as junior, he threw for 4,052 yards and 29 touchdowns along with 12 interceptions.
Kelly and his coaching staff also landed the top transfer portal class, according to recruiting industry experts. LSU brought in 17 transfers, including Florida State edge rusher Patrick Payton and Oklahoma wide receiver Nic Anderson.
