BATON ROUGE – Brian Kelly and his coaching staff attacked the early signing period in December and built one of college football’s top recruiting classes for LSU football.
The next step in putting together classes for programs across the country is National Signing Day on Wednesday. Truthfully, most of the prospects have signed with their respective colleges during the early signing period back in December.
LSU’s 2025 recruiting class came together in the early period as Kelly and his staff inked 23 high school players, headlined by consensus five-star recruit cornerback D.J. Pickett (6-4, 178) from Zephyrhills, Florida.
Per the 247Sports Composite, LSU boasts the No. 10 overall recruiting class in college football.

While LSU has the 10th overall best class in the country, that oddly enough is good enough for seventh-best in the SEC.
Texas ranks as the overall best recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite. The Longhorns are followed by Georgia at No. 2, then Alabama at No. 4 and Auburn at No. 6.
Florida (No. 8 overall) and Texas A&M (No. 9) also grade out better than LSU from the SEC.
