David Pollack sees Clemson as a strong contender in 2025, placing the Tigers at No. 4 in his early top five on The David Pollack College Football Show.
He ranked Clemson ahead of Penn State at No. 5 while Oregon, Ohio State, and Texas filled out the top three. Texas, which ended Clemson’s 2024 season with a 38-24 College Football Playoff loss, took the top spot.
Pollack pointed to the return of quarterback Cade Klubnik, the hiring of defensive coordinator Tom Allen, and Clemson’s increased use of the transfer portal as key reasons for his ranking. Klubnik is expected to take a big step forward in his senior season with his top receivers returning. Allen’s arrival should help fix a defense that struggled against the run. Swinney’s decision to embrace transfers, a shift from past years, could also provide an immediate boost.
With those factors in place, Pollack believes Clemson will be the team to beat in the ACC and a serious playoff contender in 2025.
