BATON ROUGE — College football teams across the country will begin the final steps of cementing their 2025 signing classes on National Signing Day Wednesday.
For Brian Kelly and LSU football, this 2025 class the coach and his staff have already put together has been a solid group. Over the early signing period back in December, Kelly and company hauled in 23 total signees.
LSU’s 2025 recruiting class is headlined by consensus five-star prospect D.J. Pickett (6-4, 178), a cornerback from Zephyrhills, Florida.
There’s plenty of Louisiana flavor among the incoming Tigers freshmen, too, as 10 of the 23 high school players are from instate. LSU signed three of the top five recruits in the state for the 2025 class.

Ahead of National Signing Day, let’s take a look at where the recruiting industry ranks LSU’s signing class.
LSU football 2025 recruiting class rankings
According to the 247Sports Composite, LSU currently boasts the No. 10 overall 2025 recruiting class in the nation ahead of National Signing Day.
That ranking is lower than where the 247Sports Composite rated LSU after the early signing period. Back in December, Kelly’s staff had put together the eighth best signing class.
There hasn’t been defections from the Tigers’ incoming class, a couple of other schools have jumped LSU since the early signing period with some late commitments to their respective classes.
LSU has the third most four-star recruits signed to its class among the top 10 rated classes in the country behind only Georgia and Texas A&M, who each have 20 four-star prospects and LSU has 19.
