Report: Wisconsin football loses director of player personnel Max Stienecker to Big Ten rival

MADISON – A key piece of the Wisconsin football coaching staff is joining a Big Ten rival.

Max Stienecker, the Badgers’ director of player personnel the past two seasons, is leaving to become USC’s executive director of personnel. The news was first reported by Football Scoop and followed by multiple reports confirming the departure.

Stienecker followed coach Luke Fickell to UW from Cincinnati where he worked in the recruiting department before becoming director of on-campus recruiting in 2021. With Wisconsin he was involved with roster construction, recruiting and scouting.
