Texas A&M requires future playmakers at wide receiver. Still, one of the standout athletes in the 2026 recruiting class, five-star athlete Brandon Arrington, could end up on the field on defense depending on the coaching staff he chooses to play under, similar to the incoming Aggie sophomore WR Terry Bussey.
Arrington favored Texas A&M throughout his recruitment over every prominent program vying for his attention. However, in the past month, Alabama has taken the lead. The Aggies and Oregon Ducks are now behind the Crimson Tide, which aims to enhance coach Kalen DeBoer’s upcoming offense with additional speed.
Still, Arrington’s initial program list would always indicate what schools continue to stick out. On Tuesday night, the elite prospect included Texas A&M in his Top 12 list, joining Alabama, Penn State, Michigan, USC, Florida State, UCLA, Georgia, Oregon, LSU, Oklahoma, and Nebraska.
Arrington’s exceptional athleticism showcases a player who effectively outmaneuvers defenders, either by beating man coverage from the start or by evading linebackers during reverse handoffs, making significant forward progress with impressive strides toward the end zone.
During his 2023 sophomore season, Arrington recorded 310 receiving yards, four touchdowns on offense, 25 tackles on defense, and a punt return touchdown on special teams. At the next level, Arrington could play at cornerback or wide receiver due to his speed and athleticism.
According to 247Sports, Arrington is currently the 25th-ranked prospect in the 2026 cycle, the second-ranked athlete, and the fourth-ranked prospect in California.
