Football recruiting: Central Indiana’s top juniors, sophomores piling up offers

National Signing Day for football seniors is Wednesday. But things are also heating up for recruits in the 2026 class (and some for 2027).

There has been a flurry of activity recently for some of the top Central Indiana prospects in the 2026 and 2027 classes. Six highlights:

Jerimy Finch Jr., Warren Central: The junior defensive end, rated as the top prospect in the 2026 class by 247Sports, said he will be “selecting my top schools and scheduling official visits soon” with the intention of graduating in December. His impressive offer list includes Alabama, Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Louisville, LSU, Michigan State, Missouri, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Purdue, Tennessee, Washington and Wisconsin, among others.

Kasmir Hicks, Decatur Central: Hicks showed off his all-round skills in helping Decatur Central to a Class 5A state title in the fall. He is being recruited as an athlete with a chance to play either receiver or defensive back. Since January, Hicks has added offers from Michigan State, Missouri, Stanford and Wisconsin, adding to a list that includes Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Northwestern, Vanderbilt and several Mid-American Conference schools. He is ranked as the No. 4 in-state prospect by 247Sports.

Dominick Barry, Center Grove: The 6-4, 225-pound Barry, a tight end, attended Indiana’s junior day over the weekend. Barry picked up an offer this week from Wisconsin (he visited during the summer) and from Purdue last month. In addition to those three schools, he has offers from…
