Barrett Travis deemed Wednesday a ‘celebration’ for the Heritage Hall football program.
Travis officially signed his financial aid agreement with Trinity Valley Community College as part of National Signing Day. Alongside him in signing to schools were teammates Carter Knowles signing with Rhodes College and Cal Welker signing with Middlebury College.
Travis announced his commitment via X on Tuesday night after receiving interest from various programs, including NEO, Rhodes College and several Division II schools.
“I was trying to find the right place to help get me to where I want to go, and I think Trinity Valley was the best place for that,” Travis said. “I went and took a visit down there this weekend, talked with my parents and decided to commit.”
Travis, who aspires to play Division I football one day, is well on his way to achieving that goal.
His senior season proved his potential to compete at the highest level. The 6-foot, 205-pound Travis was Heritage Hall’s main workhorse throughout the 2024 season and broke the Chargers’ single-season rushing record.
He finished the year with 268 carries for 2,166 yards and 29 touchdowns along with 20 receptions for 171 yards and two scores. At linebacker, he had 54 tackles, seven sacks, four forced fumbles and two interceptions, including one he returned for a touchdown.
Travis was ultimately named to The Oklahoman’s All-State first team as well as the Little All-City first team.
Now with his sights set on furthering his football…
