WEST LAFAYETTE − The future of Purdue football takes its first steps with spring practices soon underway.
Coming off a 1-11 season, a lot has changed since the last time the Boilermakers took the field.
Out is Ryan Walters as head coach. In is Barry Odom, who brought with him almost an entirely new staff.
And almost an entirely new roster.

Fans will get their first glance at the updated Boilermakers on April 12.
Offensive analyst David Spurlock posted on X that will be the date of Purdue’s spring football game, the annual conclusion to the Boilers’ spring season.
Purdue had more than 30 transfer portal departures from the 2024 roster.
The Boilermakers filled the losses with 27 incoming transfers. Purdue will announce its full 2025 freshman signing class on Wednesday.
