USC football continues to beef up operational staff

Less than a week after making several big additions to the recruiting staff, USC football is back at it again.

On Tuesday, it was reported that the Trojans and general manager Chad Bowden will add Wisconsin director of player personnel Max Stienecker to their recruiting staff. Stienecker spent the past two seasons with the Badgers in that role. Prior to that, he worked in the recruiting staff at Cincinnati under now-Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell.

One of the fastest risers in the recruiting industry, Max Stienecker was named to 247Sports’ 30 under 30 in 2023. That year, he became one the youngest directors of player personnel in college football history.

Stienecker began his career as a student assistant at Cincinnati in 2018. He graduated from Cincinnati with a bachelor’s degree in sports administration in 2021.

At USC, Stienecker will join a revamped recruiting staff. In addition to new GM Chad Bowden, the Trojans recently added accomplished staffers Zaire Turner and Dre Brown. Adding Wisconsin’s Max Stienecker gives this USC operations staff an additional Big Ten presence, too. Dre Brown came from Illinois. USC is really trying to do this right — not only recruiting in the Big Ten, but getting people who know the Midwest.
