WATCH: Jim Knowles Penn State introductory press conference

It didn’t take long for the Ohio State football team to lose some key members of its coaching staff after winning the College Football Playoff national championship. One of the huge losses was defensive coordinator, Jim Knowles. He came to Columbus to fix the defensive issues the Buckeyes had a few years ago, a defense that needed to be better to match the offensive production in order to get OSU over the finish line of winning the ultimate prize.

Three years later, there were improvements in the defense each and every season, with it all culminating in that goal of reaching the pinnacle of the sport this season. Ohio State’s defense led the country in yards given up per game, and scoring. It was clearly the right hire by head coach Ryan Day but now OSU is faced with replacing Knowles after he accepted the same defensive coordinator position at Penn State.

The Philadelphia native was introduced to the Penn State faithful on Tuesday, and if you’re an Ohio State fan, there’s some fairly good interest in what he had to say, especially about his time on the banks of the Olentangy — especially with the rumors about fractured relationships making the rounds. Most of the presser revolved around what Knowles will do in Happy Valley and how he plans to do it, but there were some comments about his appreciation for Day and his time at Ohio State.

If you missed any of Knowles’ comments, we have the entire press conference thanks to the GoPSUtv YouTube Channel. Have a watch and listen to Knowles discuss the future in State College and his time at Ohio State.

We’ll continue to keep our ears and eyes open as Ohio State continues its search for a defensive coordinator to replace the hole left by Knowles’ departure.
