Florida ends 2025 national signing day with top-10 recruiting class

The Florida Gators have signed the No. 8-ranked recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, according to 247Sports, following Wednesday’s national signing day and the addition of cornerback Onis Konanbanny.

Although players have until April 1 to officially sign, the majority of the nation’s top recruits are settled with many already on campus at their respective universities. National signing day hasn’t had much momentum in recent year, with the addition of the early signing period and transfer portal rule changes, but Florida’s lone signing proved to be an important one.

Adding Konanbanny locked the Gators into a top-10 spot on the 247Sports team rankings, and even gave Florida the jump on LSU, Tennessee (where Konanbanny was previously committed to) and Texas A&M. The Gators now boast a top-five class in the SEC, trailing No. 1 Texas, No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Alabama and No. 7 Auburn.

It’s the best recruiting finish by Florida in three years under Napier — Florida ranked No. 13 in 2023 and 2024 — and the highest-ranked recruiting class since Dan Mullen signed the No. 8 class in 2020.

What other recruiting services say about Florida’s haul

While 247Sports is still considered the gold standard in the recruiting world, there are other services that hold weight and even factor into the composite rankings often cited as gospel. The three other major recruiting services are ESPN, On3 and Rivals, with On3 being the closest competitor to 247Sports.

The On3 industry team rankings also consider all four major services, albeit with a different weight distribution than 247Sports, and has the Gators just outside the top 10 by four-tenths of a point. However, On3 is only using the top 20 recruits in each program’s signing class to calculate each score. 247Sports uses a Gaussian distribution formula to reach its score, considering all…
