LSU football bolstered its recruiting staff on Thursday, taking a member from Ohio State’s staff.
According to a report from On3, the Tigers hired Morgan Phillips into a senior recruiting role. She was the Director of Football Recruiting and Special Events for Ohio State starting in August 2024.
This will be Phillips’ second stint under head coach Brian Kelly after she served as LSU’s recruiting operations coordinator. She was responsible for on-campus and special event logistics, along with guiding assistant coaches through all recruiting tasks during her first go-around in Baton Rouge.
In her six months with the national champion Buckeyes, Phillips led all on-campus recruiting activities, including visits, game day operations, junior days, ambassadors, and special events. She attended college at Alabama and got her start in college football with the Crimson Tide.
Phillips is one of several staffing moves made this week by Kelly. The most notable was the official announcement of Alex Atkins as tight ends coach and run game coordinator. LSU also tabbed a new director of football operations, promoting JR Belton.
