Richmond Hill fielded one of the toughest football teams in the Coastal Empire this season, and Tuesday’s Signing Day celebration on campus showed why as six athletes put pen to paper, joining Thomas Zimbalatti (Murray State) and Caleb Easterling (Furman), who signed in December.
Here’s a look at the Wildcats who signed Wednesday, along with athletes from a number of schools from the Greater Savannah area.

Joshua Ulrich-Troupe, Kennesaw State
Ulrich-Troupe was a workhorse for the Wildcats this season as he averaged 6.3 yards per carry while rushing for 1,399 yards and 18 touchdowns to earn All-Greater Savannah first-team honors.
He said Kennesaw State saw his film from the Gridiron Classic game and offered him after the season. Ulrich-Troupe is the nephew of former University of Florida and NFL star tight end Ben Troupe.
“I think I’ll have a chance to make an impact right away,” Ulrich-Troupe said. “I like the school because it’s close to home, and my uncle lives close by there. It’s a good fit for me.”
Lee Johnson, James Madison
The senior linebacker was named the region 1-6A Defensive Player of the Year after recording 94 tackles with 14 for losses, with a pair of sacks and seven quarterback hurries. Johnson is also a standout centerfielder on the Wildcat baseball team. He signed with James Madison, am FBS program based in West Virginia where Wildcat head coach Matt LeZotte and his brother, defensive coordinator Tony LeZotte, starred in their college days.
“It was just a coincidence that I ended up at James Madison,” Johnson said. “But one of their coaches kept his eye on me and when I made a visit up there last weekend, they made me the offer. I’m really excited. Playing here at Richmond Hill prepared me because we never take a day off, and our coaches are always pushing us to be our best.”
