Can’t Wait For Saturday | Illinois recruiting off to a good start for 2026

Feb. 7—***

It is still very early, but Illinois recruiting for 2026 is succeeding at a high level.

According to , the current Illinois class of eight players is No. 9 in the country. That number will go up and down in the coming months, but it is a good place for the program to be.

The latest commit is four-star linebacker Cam Thomas from West Chester, Ohio. That followed the earlier commitment of defensive back Victor Singleton of Toledo, Ohio, also a four-star prospect.

Thomas has offers from multiple Power Four schools, including Michigan, Oregon and Wisconsin. Rivals lists him as the No. 150 prospect nationally and No. 4 in Ohio.

Singleton is ranked No. 204 nationally and No. 8 in Ohio. He has offers from Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State and Tennessee.

Illinois is swimming in the deep end of the recruiting pool and staying afloat.

And certainly it has more targets both in Illinois and beyond. The 2026 class in Illinois is considered a strong one.
