It’s never a surprise when elite defensive prospects are at least considering Texas A&M for a visit, as head coach Mike Elko and his staff will reportedly host the No. 1 ranked prospect in the 2026 recruiting class, five-star edge Zion Elee, who is currently committed to Maryland.
This summer, Elko knows he will receive official visits from five-star offensive tackle Lamar Brown and four-star defensive lineman Bryce Perry-Wright. While Elee’s visit date with the Aggies has yet to be revealed or possibly scheduled, this will be an official visit likely to take place in June or July.
Elee is still committed to Maryland, but this early in his recruiting process always breeds speculation. This can lead to competing programs, like Texas A&M, taking advantage of the ever-changing NIL landscape. However, Elko is already well acquainted with Elee, who made an unofficial visit to College Station last November.
On the field, Elee lives up to his recruiting hype, as the 6-4, 2020 pound defender is the complete package at the edge position, recording an impressive 64 tackles. 13 sacks, and an eye-popping 24 tackles for loss during his 2025 junior season at St. Francis Academy in Baltimore (MD).
