In a hectic December, the Texas Tech football program added 18 high-school recruits on the early national signing day, landed 17 players in the NCAA transfer portal and capped an 8-5 season with a loss to Arkansas in the Liberty Bowl.
The traditional February national signing day came and went Wednesday with the Red Raiders, as expected, not adding to their class. Nearly half the December signees enrolled and joined the team in January.
Now the Red Raiders are in the midst of winter conditioning workouts, and it won’t be long before they turn their attention to spring practice. The NCAA allots each team 15 sessions of spring football. Tech is scheduled to start on March 10 and close with the spring game on April 19 at Jones AT&T Stadium.
The Red Raiders will have their first three practices on the Monday, Wednesday and Friday before the university’s spring break, which is March 15-23. They’ll go on a Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday schedule afterward.
