4-star instate QB commits to Michigan State football

Michigan State football got their 2026 recruiting class a short time ago when Ohio TE Joey Caudill made the decision to commit to the Spartans. Now, the Spartans have picked up their second commitment of the 2026 class, and it may be the biggest commitment of the cycle.

Grand Rapids (MI) quarterback Kayd Coffman has made the decision to commit to Michigan State, giving the Spartans their quarterback commitment of the recruiting class.

Coffman, standing at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, plays his high school football at East Kentwood. He is a 4-star prospect according to On3 sports. He holds additional offers from Cincinnati, Duke, Iowa State, Ole Miss and Syracuse, while Iowa was showing interest.

Coffman is a massive add to the Spartans recruiting class, and should play a big role in helping recruit the rest of the class.
