Georgia football rivals among nation’s top recruiting spenders

Several of the Georgia Bulldogs’ top recruiting rivals have been named as the country’s biggest recruiting spenders using name, image and likeness (NIL) collectives.

Most notably, the Texas Longhorns have been named as one of the college football programs that spent the most money in the class of 2025, according to On3. Texas’ willingness to spend money absolutely impacted Georgia’s 2025 recruiting class. The Bulldogs finished with the No. 2 recruiting class in the country behind Texas. Georgia missed out on five-star defensive tackle Justus Terry, who committed to Texas, largely because of the Longhorns’ NIL spending.

Texas is not the only SEC rival that is spending a ton of money on recruiting. The Texas A&M Aggies also have been named as a top spender along with the Tennessee Volunteers and Auburn Tigers.

Contrarily, Georgia football and head coach Kirby Smart have been named as one of the smartest spending teams on the recruiting trail. The Bulldogs certainly have more resources than most college football programs, but they aren’t as willing to spend top dollars on recruits as other programs.
