Michigan football just brought in an impressive haul along the offensive line, with five-stars Andrew Babalola and Ty Haywood, four-star Avery Gach, and three-star Kaden Strayhorn, but the Wolverines want to keep stacking high-profile linemen in 2026.
With head coach Sherrone Moore being a former offensive lineman and offensive line coach, it’s a high-profile position for the maize and blue. And the Wolverines have been working to lure one big-time offensive tackle from about as far west as you can get.
After visiting Ann Arbor for the USC game in late September in 2024, Michigan had appeared to be a top choice for 2026 Honolulu (Hawaii) Kamehameha four-star OT Malakai Lee. And now we know for sure that it is one of the top choices as Lee dropped his top six on Friday and the Wolverines made the cut.
But there is fierce competition with Texas, USC, Georgia, Alabama, and BYU also in pursuit and making his list.
Lee is rated as the No. 145 player in the country in 2026, regardless of position. He’s the 12th-best offensive tackle in the recruiting cycle and the top player in the state of Hawaii.
