Las Vegas Raiders hire Florida assistant DB coach Beyah Rasool

Florida football assistant defensive backs coach Beyah Rasool is set to be hired by the Las Vegas Raiders as a defensive assistant, sources have told CBS Sports and 247Sports.

Rasool brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record to the Raiders. Before his tenure at Florida, he served as the defensive backs coach at Bowling Green State University. Beyond his recent roles, Rasool has amassed a considerable resume in college football, with coaching stints at notable programs including the University of Arizona and the University of Missouri.

Rasool is a native of Tucson, Arizona, and he played football at Eastern Arizona College in 2006 and 2007. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelor of arts and science degree in general studies in 2020.

Rasool’s move to the Raiders is seen as a strategic hire by Las Vegas, aimed at enhancing their defensive capabilities, particularly within their secondary. For the Gators, while Rasool’s departure is a loss, it also highlights the strength of the program’s coaching staff, whose members are being sought out for higher positions in the NFL.

The focus for Florida will now shift to filling the void left by Rasool’s departure. It shouldn’t be difficult to find a replacement because Florida football’s ability to attract and cultivate coaching talent is strong, and the future holds new opportunities for growth.
