The Texas Tech football team has picked up a commitment for its 2026 recruiting class from Pflugerville Hendrickson defensive back Maddox Quiller. He announced his pledge on social media.
Quiller, listed by his team this past season at 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, was credited with 54 tackles, three pass breakups and one caused fumble. Hendrickson finished 5-5 and 4-4 in District 12-5A Division I.
The Rivals recruiting service has Quiller ranked the No. 78 prospect in the state for next season’s high-school seniors. Houston and Texas Tech were the first two programs to offer Quiller a scholarship. Houston is where new Texas Tech defensive coordinator Shiel Wood worked this past season.
Quiller’s announcement for Tech gives the Red Raiders five commitments for the 2026 class. The first four came from Georgetown East View linebacker Tieson Ejiawoko (6-3, 226), Mount Pleasant defensive tackle Ayden Johnson (6-1, 315), New Braunfels Canyon defensive back Luke Bell (6-0, 175) and Amarillo Tascosa defensive tackle Krush Johnson (6-4, 275).
