Will Iron Bowl winner determine if 5-star 2026 recruit picks Alabama basketball or Auburn?

As a historic Iron Bowl showdown looms, Alabama basketball and Auburn both find themselves in the mix for another 5-star recruit.

On3’s Joe Tipton reported on Wednesday morning that shooting guard Caleb Holt out of Grayson High has been to see five teams this season, and the No. 1 Crimson Tide and No. 2 Tigers have been two of them.

College coaches are giving the love right back to Holt, though. Three have already come to see him in person, and you might be able to guess a couple more head skippers who aren’t far behind from making the trip to Loganville, GA.

Holt, who’s billed at 6-foot-5, told Tipton that Houston’s Kelvin Sampson, Georgia’s Mike White, and Georgia Tech’s Damon Stoudamire have all been to visit him. Meanwhile, teams including Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Houston, Kansas, Kentucky, Providence, and Tennessee have sent other program staffers to scout Holt.

Per On3’s Visit Center, the Huntsville, Ala. native has been to Ole Miss, Houston, and Tennessee each once and twice to Georgia and Georgia Tech twice, but his home state leads the pack.

Auburn has received Holt for five visits and Alabama has welcomed him for three. Head coach Nate Oats hopes it won’t be long until the 2026 recruit makes another appearance in Tuscaloosa.
