Could Ja’Juan Seider flip one of his former Penn State 2026 commits to Notre Dame?

Recruiting is all about relationships, and for Notre Dame football, they have more than a few new ones since the hire of running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider from Penn State.

The lateral move was a bit surprising across the country, but for many who know what the Irish have in their running back room, who wouldn’t want to coach Jeremiyah Love, Jadarian Price and Aneyas Williams?

Current Nittany Lions 2026 running back commit is thinking along the same lines, as 247Sports Brian Dohn is reporting that Pennsylvania’s Messiah Mickens will make an official visit to South Bend among a few other schools. He’s been committed since Aug. ‘23, and could just be making sure that he is making the right decision.

Mickens will also visit North Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri and South Carolina, but did tell Dohn that “it’s going to be hard to beat out Penn State.” There is some hope with the scheduled visits that he could flip, with him and Seider having “a great bond beyond football.”

Notre Dame would be a great place to keep that relationship going for the nation’s No. 114 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
