Wisconsin missed the final schools for class of 2027 quarterback Trae Taylor on Thursday.
Taylor will choose from a final group of LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Illinois and Texas A&M. He plans to announce his commitment on June 6, according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong.
Wisconsin recently offered the hotly pursued quarterback on Jan. 10, just two days after the program officially moved Kenny Guiton to quarterbacks coach. The Mundelein, Illinois, native then visited Madison in late January. Despite that recent push, the Badgers appear out of the running to land his commitment.
Taylor has yet to receive a star rating from 247Sports or On3. Rivals, however, lists him as a four-star prospect and the No. 4 quarterback in the class. That standing has more than a full calendar year to improve, as the class of 2027 cycle is still far from completion.
On3’s recruiting prediction machine currently lists Michigan as the early favorite at 40.5%.
Wisconsin hasn’t added any commitments in the class of 2026 or 2027 since the start of the calendar year. It still has just one player committed to the former: three-star lineman Benjamin Novak. The program is starting its recruiting push in the class, with several top targets scheduled for official visits in June.
