Mack Sutter has narrowed his list to five programs.
The 6-foot-6, 225-pound Class of 2026 recruit from Dunlap will choose among Alabama, Illinois, Penn State, Ole Miss or Ohio State, he announced Saturday via social media. Sutter is expected to make visits to the five schools in April, May and June, he told national recruiting reporter Hayes Fawcett.
“I will be locking in on these 5 schools,” Sutter told Fawcett, “and hopefully be ready to make a decision right after my last (official visit).”

The Illinois visit is first (April 11), followed by Ole Miss (April 25), Ohio State (May 30), Penn State (June 6) and Alabama (June 20).
Overall, Sutter holds 45 scholarship offers overall, that number reached after a recent flurry of teams coming to the table last month. Last summer, Sutter had narrowed his list of finalists down to 12.
During January, he kept extra busy with a flurry of college coaches visiting Dunlap. Head coaches James Franklin (Penn State), Bret Bielema (Illinois), Kirk Ferentz (Iowa) and Barry Odom (Purdue) all made in-person appearances.
“I didn’t think it was going too busy,” the second-ranked junior in the Illinois told the Journal Star earlier this month, “because I narrowed it down to a top 12.”
The linebacker/receiver is a two-time selection to the all-Mid-Illini first team and Journal Star all-area team, picked for both in his sophomore and junior seasons.
