Edge rusher Andrew Williams commits to USC
Right now, a lot of people in the college football recruiting business are watching USC football. They are waiting to see if the Trojans’ new culture and administrative changes are getting everyone’s attention in the right way. They are looking for signs that more recruits are buying into what USC is selling. One has to be encouraged by what is happening. USC’s 2025 recruiting class might not have been much to write home about, but the Trojans’ 2026 class continues to get better by the day.
Earlier this week, the Trojans added a commitment from three-star edge rusher Andrew Williams. A local product, Williams attends John C. Fremont High School in Los Angeles—located less than five miles from the Coliseum. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 70 edge rusher in the class of 2026.
“I’m thrilled to announce my commitment to The University of Southern California to continue my academic and athletic journey,” Williams wrote on Twitter. “It’s time to focus on my up coming season.”
USC’s 2026 recruiting class currently sits at No. 3 in the country. Right now, only Oregon and Texas A&M are ahead of the Trojans. With 10 months to go until signing day, however, Lincoln Riley and Chad Bowden still have a lot of work left to do if they want to close the class on a strong note. It’s important, though, to bank some local recruiting wins, because that’s something which hasn’t happened nearly enough in recent years. Improvements need to happen on a larger scale, and every little win can turn into a collection of success stories which will add up later on.
