Wisconsin football in contention with SEC powers for 2026 wide receiver

The Wisconsin Badgers are in contention to land class of 2026 wide receiver Owen Cabell.

The Nashville, Tennessee, native released his list of six finalists on Friday. Wisconsin made the cut, along with the Big Ten’s Indiana and Illinois, plus SEC powers Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Georgia. The three-star wide receiver already has an official visit to Wisconsin scheduled for June 5.

247Sports ranks Cabell as the No. 689 player in the class of 2026, No. 108 wide receiver and No. 21 recruit from his home state. The service has yet to release any predictions for his landing spot. On3, however, lists Vanderbilt as the early favorite at 75.9%.

Wisconsin continues to make strides with several of its top targets in the class of 2026. Cabell is one of several players already scheduled to visit the program during its critical June recruiting push.

The Badgers have yet to add a second commitment to their class of 2026, with three-star lineman Benjamin Novak still its only player. QB Jarin Mock was previously committed to the group before he departed following the program’s overhaul of its offensive coaching staff.

Wisconsin will have some major competition in its quest to add Cabell to its group, both from the Big Ten and the SEC. The Badgers’ recruiting battle with those top programs will be worth watching as we approach the summer months.
