How Alabama’s loss vs. Auburn affected their KenPom ranking

On Saturday afternoon in Tuscaloosa, the Alabama Crimson Tide suffered what was only their fourth loss of the year by falling to the Auburn Tigers, 94-85.

A game in which Alabama struggled from three-point range, this loss means that Alabama’s record for the year now sits at 21-4 overall, as well as 10-2 in SEC play. As a result of the defeat, Alabama also now sits one game behind the Tigers for first place in the SEC standings, but are still likely to be ranked in the top five teams nationally when polls are updated Monday.

When taking a look at Alabama’s KenPom standing as well, the Crimson Tide are ranked as the nation’s No. 6 overall team in the metric as of late Saturday night. KenPom also ranks Alabama as the nation’s No. 2 team in offensive efficiency after the Auburn loss, as well as No. 37 in defensive efficiency.

Alabama’s next game will come Wednesday, Feb. 19 on the road against the Missouri Tigers.
