Josh Jones out as Bearden football coach after three TSSAA seasons

Josh Jones is out as the Bearden football coach after three seasons, the school confirmed to Knox News on Tuesday.

Athletic director Morgan Shinlever said Jones was no longer the coach as of 2 p.m. Tuesday. Shinlever would not say if Jones was fired but confirmed Jones did not resign.

Jones went 25-13 in three seasons with Bearden after becoming the coach before the 2022 season.

Jones was previously the offensive coordinator at Powell, where he helped lead the program to the Class 5A state title in 2021.
