Clemson receiver Bryant Wesco ranks Top 10 in the country after breakout freshman season

Clemson wide receiver Bryant Wesco has been recognized as a top returning player in college football, earning the No. 7 spot on Pro Football Focus’s list of best returning wide receivers for 2025.

Wesco, a former top-35 national prospect, made an immediate impact in his freshman season, leading Clemson with a 17.3-yard average per reception while recording 41 catches for 708 yards and five touchdowns. His breakout performance came in the ACC Championship Game against SMU, where he posted eight receptions for 142 yards and two touchdowns, setting the record for the most receiving yards by a freshman in the conference title game.

PFF’s Max Chadwick praised Wesco’s play and the strength of Clemson’s receiving corps. “The final rising sophomore on this list, Wesco helps form one of the nation’s best trios next year alongside Antonio Williams and fellow sophomore T.J. Moore, both of whom had compelling cases to also be ranked here,” Chadwick said. “Wesco’s 707 receiving yards in 2024 trailed only Jeremiah Smith and Ryan Williams among true freshmen wideouts, while his 2.21 yards per route run ranked fifth and led the Tigers.”

Wesco’s production as a freshman put him in elite company. He became just the fifth Clemson true freshman with three or more 100-yard receiving games in a season and posted the highest PFF grade (70.8) for a freshman Clemson receiver since Justyn Ross in 2018 (91.4). With Williams, Moore, Tyler Brown, Cole Turner, Adam Randall, and transfer Tristan Smith also in the mix, Clemson boasts one of the deepest and most talented receiving groups in the country heading into 2025.
