It’s been months since Michigan football changed things up offensively, and we’re not just talking about the personnel.
Two days after the Wolverines upset Ohio State in Columbus, Michigan fired offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell. It took a few weeks after that before the maize and blue settled in on a new name to lead the offense, and it brought in former UCF, Auburn, and North Carolina offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey who should pair nicely with the offensive talent that Michigan brought in this offseason.
Yet, despite it being months since Lindsey was hired, Wednesday marked the first time that he had any interviews as the Michigan offensive coordinator. Lindsey joined Jon Jansen on the In the Trenches Podcast and shared his thoughts on what the offense will look like, his excitement about joining the Wolverines and more.

Coach, thanks for joining us. Welcome to Ann Arbor, and what’s your experience like since you landed here in Ann Arbor?
Yeah, thank you. Appreciate you having me. It’s been good. It’s been really good. I’ve learned a lot about driving and been really careful out there when you have snow and everything, but no, it’s been really good.
The people here have been great. It’s been fun to get to know the players, and coming in during the bowl gave me a great opportunity to kind of get to know everybody before, you know, hitting the ground running, so to speak.
I’m not going to ask you too much about the roster. I will ask you a little bit about, how do you learn about this roster and how, because until you see play — you’ve got a chance to see them at the bowl game, but spring ball I know is going to be really big. Hopefully, we’ll get a chance to talk to you after that, but you mentioned, most of your career has been in southern states, and I’m curious, you mentioned…
