Notre Dame football trophies to grant photo opportunities to fans

Notre Dame did something this past season that would have been impossible to imagine not long ago: Win the Sugar Bowl and Orange Bowl in the same year. That means two grand trophies were given permanent homes in South Bend. Now, the Irish want to share those trophies with their fans.

The Sugar Bowl and Orange Bowl trophies will be on display for pregame photo opportunities at three upcoming Notre Dame athletic events. The first will be Wednesday’s men’s basketball game against SMU. That will be followed by the hockey game Feb. 28 against Michigan State and the women’s basketball’s regular-season finale March 2 against Louisville, which already has been announced as a sellout.

No matter how good the other teams on campus are, football always will be king at Notre Dame. That’s why large crowds should be expected to get a glimpse at these trophies, so get there early if you can:
