Ohio State football earns visit from the No. 1 rated recruit in the class of 2026. Jackson Cantwell is a five-star offensive tackle from the state of Missouri and has just scheduled a round of visits for the third weekend in March. It looks like three schools have made the visit list including the Miami Hurricanes, the Michigan Wolverines, and of course, the Buckeyes.
The stud recruit has narrowed his choices down to the final six with three of the six listed above, the other three are the Georgia Bulldogs, the Missouri Tigers, and the Oregon Ducks. On3 estimates Cantwell’s NIL value at $730,000.00, which as we know is a complete guess, but that number should be noted as OSU has struggled in the past with getting offensive linemen to sign on the dotted line and that is in large part due to the lack of NIL funds allocated to that positional group.
If Ohio State can nab the star, the Buckeyes’ 2026 recruiting class could shape up to be something special with an offensive tackle of his caliber combined with five-star receiver, Chris Henry Jr. Although being one of his three visits in March is interesting, it probably should not be viewed as an indication of his top three.
