UTEP is set to hire Montana State defensive coordinator Bobby Daly to become the Miners’ new defensive coordinator, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel and other sources.
Daly will replace JJ Clark, who last week left to become the assistant linebackers coach for the Dallas Cowboys.
Daly comes to UTEP from Montana State, where he guided the defense to a No. 15 ranking in total defense and a No. 11 ranking in scoring defense. Montana State finished 15-1 with its loss coming in the FCS national championship game.
Bobby Daly is set to be named UTEP’s defensive coordinator
He has had various jobs at his alma mater Montana State since joining that staff in 2019. He was an all-time great at that school as a linebacker, earning first-team All-American honors in his junior year of 2007.
