Jacksonville State football has set the date for its spring football game.
It will be the first look for Gamecock fans at first year coach Charles Kelly. The spring game will be held on April 17 at 6 p.m. The game will be at AmFirst Stadium. The spring game has been free in years past as well, but ticket information was not announced.
Last year, the spring game resembled more of an elevated practice with the offense and defense going through different drills. It is unclear if Kelly will keep that format or go to a more traditional spring game.
The spring game will be the first time fans will see the Gamecocks at AmFirst Stadium since the 52-12 Conference USA title game win over Western Kentucky. That was the highlight of the 9-5 season that ended with a loss in the Cure Bowl to Ohio, after Rich Rodriguez left for his alma mater.
