As we prepare for the spring practice period, the Nebraska Cornhuskers enter the 2025 season looking to improve on last year’s 7-6 record. The offense was a roller coaster throughout the 2024 season. The unit struggled early on, and on Nov. 11, 2024, head coach Matt Rhule made the unprecedented move of hiring a new offensive coordinator midseason when he brought in former West Virginia and Houston head coach Dana Holgorsen to run the offense.
Nebraska ended the season ranked No. 94 in total offense at 359 yards per game. Their scoring offense was in even worse shape at No. 103, with an average of 23.5 points per game. Holgorsen is expected to not only improve the overall offense but also play a significant role in quarterback Dylan Raiola’s continued development. Raiola threw for 2,819 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in 13 starts as a true freshman.
With expectations so high for Dylan Raiola in year two, Cornhuskers Wire has decided to see where the quarterback ranks among the other 17 starters in the Big Ten Conference. Entering 2025, the Big Ten sees a mix of veteran starters and true freshmen at the quarterback position. While several schools will enter the fall without a set starter, the names below are projected starters as of the offseason.
