The No. 17 Clemson Tigers are in the home stretch of the schedule before the ACC Tournament begins on March 11 in Charlotte.
The Tigers hope their stay in this year’s ACC Tournament will be a longer one than last year’s one-and-done exit after a 21-point blowout loss to Boston College.
First things first, Clemson (21-5 overall, 13-2 ACC) has some business to take care of with regards to the regular season. That journey continues Saturday when the Tigers face SMU for the first time as conference foes. Tipoff for Clemson vs. SMU is set for 4 p.m. ET at Moody Coliseum in Dallas. The game will be televised on ACC Network.
Heading into Saturday’s game, Clemson is up three spots to No. 20 in ESPN’s College Basketball Power Index ratings. According to those same ratings and ESPN Analytics, Brad Brownell’s Tigers have an 11.5 percent chance of being ACC regular season champions with the Duke Blue Devils (No. 1 in ESPN’s BPI) looking more and more likely to return to the top of the conference throne.
The same metrics rate the Tigers’ strength of schedule 88th out of the 364 teams across 31 Division I conferences.
Here’s a look at ESPN Analytics’ projected winner for each of Clemson’s final five regular season games, as well as their opponents’ records and BPI ranking.
