The Georgia Bulldogs are bolstering their offensive staff with the addition of Ty Hatcher as an offensive analyst.
Hatcher, the son of former Samford head coach Chris Hatcher, brings an impressive resume despite his young age of 25. His experience includes stints at Alabama, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma, working under notable offensive minds like Bill O’Brien, Bobby Petrino, Jimbo Fisher, and current Georgia OC Mike Bobo all of whom have head coaching experience.
This hire marks a full-circle moment for Kirby Smart, whose first coaching job was as a graduate assistant at Valdosta State under Chris Hatcher. Now, Smart welcomes his former mentor’s son to his staff at UGA. In his role as offensive quality control coach, Ty Hatcher will contribute to the overall oversight of the Georgia offense, which is coming off a disappointing 2024 season.
This move is part of a series of recent staff adjustments in Athens, including promotions for Andrew Thacker, James Ellis, Tanner Potts, and Steven Drummond. As the Bulldogs prepare for spring practice in the coming weeks, fans will be excited to see how these changes translate on the field.
Georgia kicks off their 2025 season against Marshall at Sanford Stadium on Aug. 30.
