Georgia football’s most important player projected to become a superstar

Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Gunner Stockton has been named as college football player that will become a superstar in 2025 according to 247Sports. Stockton is Georgia’s most important player in 2025.

The Bulldogs are looking to reload on offense following the departure of quarterback Carson Beck. Stockton looked fairly sharp against stout competition in his limited starting experience against Texas and Notre Dame.

Stockton enters the spring projected to be Georgia’s No. 1 quarterback. He has just 83 career passing attempts, so this spring will be critical for his development. Stockton posted 440 passing yards, one passing touchdown and one interception in 2024.

Stockton is one of five quarterbacks that 247Sports’ Chris Hummer projects will “emerge as superstars in 2025” along with Texas’ Arch Manning, Florida’s DJ Lagway, Ohio State’s Julian Sayin and Oregon’s Dante Moore. Interestingly, Georgia and Stockton will play against both Florida and Texas, so we’ll see what quarterback truly takes the next step this fall.
