No. 7 Texas A&M (20-6, 9-4 SEC) is looking to get back on track after losing to No. 21 Mississippi State 70-54 on Tuesday night in one of the poorest offensive showings of the season from the Maroon & White. On Saturday, the Aggies will host No. 6 Tennessee, coming off a mini-bye week after defeating Vanderbilt last weekend.
Texas A&M’s five-game winning streak in SEC play was underreported, and after Tuesday’s beat down in Starkville, you would think the Aggies were one of the worst teams in the conference based on how some of the A&M fan base was reacting to the loss. Either way, losing on the road is not the end of the world, especially for an Aggie squad safely in the NCAA Tournament.
Still, Saturday’s game against another formidable SEC opponent is another challenge to finish the regular season. However, according to the latest injury report, one of Tennessee’s key forwards could miss the game due to injury.
Texas A&M is 100% going into the game, while former Ohio State big man Felix Okpara, averaging 7.3 PPG, 6.3 RPG, and 1.8 BPG, has started every game this season and is now listed ahead of the 11:00 a.m. tip-off.
This is significant news for Texas A&M forwards Pharrel Payne and Henry Coleman, who are looking to get back on track in the paint after combining for seven points against the Bulldogs.
