Nebraska athletic director Troy Dannen confirmed that 50,000 tickets have been sold within the first week of availability for the Husker’s football game against the Cincinnati Bearcats at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. He confirmed this on Sean Callahan’s Husker Online podcast.
The Huskers and Bearcats will meet in the season opener on August 28 at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. The two teams have only met one other time. The game occurred in 1906 when Nebraska thumped the Bearcats by a 41-0 margin. Now, the Bearcats will look to gain a measure of revenge. They are coming off a 2024 season that saw them go 5-7 last season.
Nebraska is coming off its first bowl win since 2015 and is looking to build on that with sophomore quarterback Dylan Raiola under center. It has been a busy offseason for the Huskers, as they retooled the roster via the transfer portal and with the incoming recruiting class.
It will be another highly-anticipated season in Matt Rhule’s third year.
