One of Wisconsin football’s class of 2025 signees is set to join the program as an impressive two-way athlete.
La Cueva High School linebacker Mason Posa, who signed with the Badgers on Dec. 4, pocketed his fourth consecutive New Mexico State wrestling title on Saturday, participating in the 285-pound weight class.
The kicker — Posa weighs roughly 75 pounds lighter than the threshold he elected to compete in on Saturday.
At roughly 210 pounds, the Albuquerque, New Mexico, product had already notched state titles at 160 pounds in 2022, 189 in 2023 and 210 last year. He officially joined an exclusive group to win four state titles at four different weight classes on Saturday.
While he will not be venturing to Madison for wrestling, Posa’s remarkable 43-0 record on the mat personifies his physical dominance. He’s heading to UW as a top-ranked linebacker recruit who could make an immediate impact with the program.
Through 45 career games at La Cueva, Posa logged 331 total tackles, 250 solo tackles, 63.0 tackles for loss, 23.0 sacks and 10 interceptions. He put together an impressive 105-tackle, 5.0-sack, three-interception campaign for the Bears as a senior in 2024.

Posa, four-star edge Nicolas Clayton and four-star defensive lineman Jaylen Williams are the highest-rated prospects to sign with the Badgers in the class of 2025.
