No state has more elite high school football talent than Georgia

Georgia has more top 100 recruits than any other state according to the 247Sports Composite. Georgia and Florida are tied with the most top 100 recruits (14 each) in the class of 2026.

This is even more impressive when factoring in that Georgia’s population is 11 million, which is significantly smaller than other top states like California (38 million), Texas (30 million), and Florida (22 million).

The Peach State’s premier amount of high school football talent is a big reason why the Georgia Bulldogs are often among the top college football teams in the country. Georgia and head coach Kirby Smart have signed a top two recruiting class in three consecutive years. The Bulldogs are looking to repeat that accomplishment in the class of 2026. UGA does not have as much in-state recruiting competition as other top college football programs, but Georgia Tech has become a more formidable recruiter in recent seasons.
