Notre Dame football continues to impress multiple recruits across the country, and on Tuesday yet another top prospect has the Irish in his top list.
California running back Brian Bonner narrowed his top group to eight schools, with Notre Dame being included in his impressive list. Five of them have recently made the College Football Playoff, three of them playing in the championship game over the last two seasons.
The 6-foot, 1-inch and 185-pound back is viewed as one of the best prospects nationally, ranking as the No. 97 overall player in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Bonner also is a track star, as he ran a 10.65-second 100-meter dash during the spring season.
Although Notre Dame just recently offered him earlier this month, the scholarship was enough to push them into his top group. According to a report by 247Sports Blair Angulo, Bonner has set a few Big Ten visits (subscription required) for the spring, but this was before the Irish joined the fray.
Hopefully a stop in South Bend is added to his Midwest trip, and then Notre Dame can get a good feel for where they stand in Bonner’s recruitment.
