Pro Football Focus is high on one of Notre Dame football’s starting offensive tackles

Notre Dame football is returning a good amount on its offensive line from 2024, and one of those players was highlighted by Pro Football Focus as a top-10 offensive tackles in the country.

Rising senior Aamil Wagner got his first taste of starting experience this past fall, and it was a smashing success. He started every game of the year, while also contributing on special teams as well.

Wagner caught the eyes of the analysts at PFF, as they named him the No. 5 returning tackle in the nation. Max Chadwick, who compiled the list, believes that the Irish have “another stud tackle” coming through the program.

PFF’s metrics graded Wagner out “as the third-most-valuable Power Four tackle” with a run-blocking grade of 78.1, which ranked No. 17 nationally. He allowed just two sacks in his first year starting, setting himself up for a huge senior year.

While he might not have the highest ceiling among the Notre Dame offensive line, Wagner is still the current best player on a line that should contend for the Joe Moore Award, given to the nation’s top offensive line unit.

2. Francis Mauigoa, Miami
4. Jordan Seaton, Colorado
6. Gennings Dunker, Iowa
